Are you interested in the United Nations and how they contribute to the international protection of Human Rights?

Are you fed up by gaining your knowledge on these topics from textbooks or lectures ?

This UN workshop organized by JUNES, the United Nations Youth Association in collaboration with the YOUTH REPs, the Swiss youth delegates to the UN offers you an exciting opportunity.
On Tuesday 18th of march between 2 and 6 pm we go to the Palais Wilson in Geneva to learn about the Human Rights Treaty Bodies and you’ll actually get to be present at the state report session of Nepal in the Human Rights Committee.

At state report sessions in the Human Rights Committee, a high level (often ministerial) delegation of the state in question (for us Nepal) will present every five year a report on the implementation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights. A body of 18 experts examines this report and discusses issues that are often reported by NGOs.

If you would like to know more about this topic and get a first-hand experience, please sign up here until the 11.03.2014 at midnight.
Participation is free and no previous knowledge is needed. If you have any questions, please send an e-mail to info@junes.org.
